These Osprey photos were taken at Lake Seminole Park in Seminole, Florida, October 2008.
He is trying to get out of camera shot.
It was hard to get him, as he circled all around me.
I don't know about the rest of you, but these auto focus cameras are tough when a bird flys by unexpected. I don't have time to change to manual focus and my camera trys to focus on the moon or sun, or something way too far away.
He then landed and I got some photos of him in the pine trees. Will post those later.

It is hard to get those flying bird photos. I put my camera on the "sports action" setting. But sometimes it doesn't work.

Flight shots are the hardest for me also. Like you, my best pictures always turn out to be butt shots. Love butt shots...lol.
I like the second one best. The off kilter look. Was he banking? Was Leedra leaning over, falling down....lol you get the point. It engaged me and made me think. That's what I like about it.

Leedra, Great pictures!!!! The Osprey has a HUGE wing-span, doesn't it????? Wow!!!
Great job - it's hard to catch one even when you're sitting by the nest - my hubby used to try and shoot them in Idaho.
