American Anhinga at Lake Seminole Park

I really get a kick out of the American Anhinga as they try to air dry. Notice how the light comes through his neck. And look at those feet!

They stretch...

Then they stretch some more....

Then they try stretching out flatter.

These photos were taken at Lake Seminole Park during our October 2008 visit.

American Anhinga sitting on post

This is an American Anhinga. I posted a picture here of an Anhinga fishing at Lake Seminole Park. This one is sitting on the dock of the bay.
I love blogging, it makes me research so much. Right now I feel like this is a full time job. Oh yeah, I have a full time job. Guess I will be taking vacation from both. But just as at the paying job, lots of things to do before leaving so everything runs smoothly while gone.

American Anhinga at Lake Seminole Park

This American Anhinga at Seminole Park was fun to watch. He would disappear under water and then come up 20 to 30 feet away from where he went under. One time he came up and swung this fish around before swallowing it.
