Migration in the yard - part 2

Yes, they are European Starlings. Everybody has them, nobody wants them.

But when they gather together in the fall they are so pretty.

These photos are cropped alot, I had to see for myself that they trully are Starlings.

Starlings must be the only bird that migrates in large numbers over East Tennessee.
Because when anybody sees migrating birds they always say "There are the Starlings"
I just had to crop to see the markings for myself. Now I know for sure, yep, they are Starlings.
They have pretty markings this time of year. Doesn't mean my husband is going to be any more tolerate of them building in the propane tank lid next year than he was this year. I have to give him credit, he did not tear the nest out until they had several families. Finally caught it at the right time, probably after all these were hatched. (Hah!)
Glad my new car was parked in the garage while all this was going on. The 12 year old Blazer got blasted good.

Migration in the yard - part 1

I walked by the front door as I was going to switch on the fireplace. Isn't that switch just wonderful? And it looks like the real thing, just as homey. Love it. Oh, forgot where I was headed, yep, that is exactly what happened. By the time I grabbed the camera they were in the back yard. You can see them on the roof of the shop, all over the arbor, and then the yard.Well, they did as they do, they swooped together and off to the neighbors yard, and then to my front yard. These you can see the road.
I know my World Tuesday is on Tuesday and today is Wednesday, but today is when this happened in my yard. So this is my world Wednesday (some say I am in my own little world).

Fall Migration - Sky Watch October 10

This may appear to be an odd combination. But all 4 photographs were taken standing in the same spot within seconds of each other, this past Monday evening in downtown Knoxville. I just turned around in a circle and snapped what I saw.

Please visit Sky Watch Friday to see wonderful photographs from all over the world.
