Little Greenbriar School at Metcalfe Bottoms in GSMNP

Last week I revisited Metcalfe Bottoms and realised the schoolhouse is called Little Greenbriar, instead of Metcalfe Bottoms.

We had just a dusting of snow, I was expecting more at this location.

The fence is the one around the cemetary. There is just the hint of color in the leaves.

I changed the same photo to Sepia, then to Black and White.

This is the view outside. Nature calling them while they tried to study.

That dark spot is a hole the children made in the desk so they could pass notes through. Notice the name, the hole is about 1 oclock to it.

Beech Grove School in Cataloochee Cove - GSMNP

People always say "one room schoolhouse". Guess it is a sign of the money in this little cove. They had 2 rooms in their little schoolhouse.
