Eastern Bluebird at Cumberland Mtn State Park

I love Eastern Bluebirds. I guess it is my very, very favorite bird. So hard to pick one, but I think Bluebirds were what pulled me into birding 20 (cough, cough 30) years ago.
This one was not concerned with me, or was modeling for me. Not sure which. Either way I was excited when I saw the Bluebird, it was worth the drive for me.

They are beautiful birds. It would be hard for me to pick a favorite. Don't choke on that number now!!

Good Morning Leedra,
The bluebird is one of my favorites, too. Lately they have been coming to the bird house and sitting on top of it for a long time. Usually when they come, there are several other birds with them that are light brown/gray with yellowish breast. They seem to be competing for the space.

Dorothy - They are probably both looking for a place to winter. Not sure what the other bird is.

Darla - not choking.

Oh wow! What are the chances you can get a bluebird with berries on a fall colored leaf? Beautiful, Leedra!!!

Wonderful bluebird photos! It's so neat that he is perched on a dogwood (?) limb, for that orange just looks wonderful with his blue.
