Happy Thanksgiving

These photographs were taken in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.

So they are very well protected.
They won't be on anybody's table today. Hope everybody is having a great Thanksgiving Day Celebration with your families.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Leedra. I slept 3 hours...awake at 1:00...up at 4:00...baked a couple of chocolate pies and put the Turkey in the oven. Now it's 7:30 and I could use a nap before the company comes!

So those liitle guys don't even have to be 'pardoned' do they??? (Did you hear about the turkeys that the President pardoned and sent on a plane to Disney Land??? Anyhow--I wondered what someone would think if they had to sit NEXT to one of those turkeys!!!! ha ha)

Have a wonderful day, my Friend.
Hugs,
Betsy

Happy Thanksgiving Leedra...I usually see turkeys here on Thanksgiving Day...they know they're safe in my yard!! Unless the Guineas see them then....they're on their own!!!

Happy Thanksgiving Leedra.

I've only seen one wild turkey and didn't have my camera, so can't even count it as a lifer yet.

I don't think people realize just how beautiful wild turkeys are...my husband is a turkey hunter and I took a whole roll of film at one time trying to capture all the colors reflected from the feathers.

Roger was watching a show about the turkeys, and I was half listening and missed the part where it told that a wild turkey's brain is a third bigger than domestic turkey's brain...and it is the part of the brain to do with vision.

I was leading up to say that your first photograph is starting to capture some of the colors...I can see the bronze. Did you happen to see it at the angle where you can see the green? If you didn't, you probably don't believe me that they do reflect green in certain light.
