We got the house - closed today

The house is located on the main highway between Rockwood and Spring City. It is 10 miles closer to my work than Spring City is. So that will help when I am traveling my 2 days a week. It is about 9 miles from his work location. Hubby will spend 4 nights a week, and I will 2 nights a week. The rest we will both be at our home in New Market.Several people have asked to see a picture of the house we are buying. I did not want show it until it was actually ours. We closed today at 1PM, now the work begins.

It had been on well water, but it must have gone bad. We get connected to public water next week (hopefully).
From this picture you can see one of the reasons we got it cheap. Needs a roof and gutters. The roof is minor compared to some other issues. Hubby will be real busy for awhile.
Notice in the above picture you can see a building in the back corner. The picture below is a very close up of the building. Love the look of the wood. Wish that light fixture was somewhere else, probably not going to be moved just for my photography reasons.
The lot is 1.68 acres. There was another house built in 1925, at some point it burned, all that remains of it is the foundation. This out building was probably on the property that long ago.

Neat.... I'm glad you found a place convenient to both of you and your jobs. You'll have fun fixing the place up!!!!! Sounds like you are going to be able to keep your New Market home also. That's GREAT!!!!

Congratulations on your new acquisition! I love the utbuilding with the beautifully weathered timber. For my money, that lightfittin is not at all fitting. Bythe time you have restored the roof and anything else that needs fixing and are concentrating on hte garden I'm sure you will have convinced himself to thinking it was his idea to change it. The lay of the land and trees are all perfect. Good luck and happy nesting.
