Dolphin at John's Pass Boardwalk at Maderia Beach

These dolphin photographs were taken from the John's Pass boardwalk at Maderia Beach less than 2 weeks ago. We stay on St Pete Beach, but we go to John's Pass for the good food and the dolphins. I just cannot get the dolphin photos I want. The top one they almost came up for me. I mostly get tails in the air, like the one below.
This one you can see the head, but not to my satisfaction.
There were plenty there.
Can see the head again, just a little.

And backs and tails again. As always you can click to enlarge for viewing.

I would love to see dolphins in the wild...one day.

I still find beauty in just seeing their tales flipping in the water!

Are you sure we are not related? Those shots are the kind I would end up getting also. But hey, you at least got to see them!

I think the shots are great! Our 14 year old will love seeing this, she loves anything to do with the ocean.. Actually are many of your photos up to your expectations? You are to hard on yourself....Hugs!

I love dolphins but have never been able to get a good photo like yours. You were very close to these dolphins and at least were able to get lots of detail in what you were able to capture. Great photos!

Leedra: What a fun post of an animal not seen by very many people.

It's so exciting to see them, though! Even if they don't poke their heads up for the pictures, they are great pictures. Once we were standing on a pier in FL and a flock(?) gaggle (?) group anyway, of manta rays swam by below us and it just took your breath away!
