Too many Pine Siskins

I have been reading so many bloggers that are complaining about the numbers of Pine Siskins this year. Happened across this article at Cornell. At the bottom of the page it also has some information about the salmonella outbreak.

I don't have a photo to go with this post, because I am not at my own computer. Just thought some of you might be interested in this information.

I read that article --a couple of weeks ago, along with several others.. I've been watching for sick birds --but haven't seen any. There was one dead one here--but I think it hit the window. I know what to look for when it comes to sick birds.

Thanks for sharing.
Hugs,
Betsy

Interesting article. I have only had a few siskins, but did get some of the salmonella in my yard that a couple goldfinches got. The warm weather we had made the finches disperse and I have not seen any sick birds for over a week now.
