American Coots at Tierra Verde

American Coots are similiar in appearance to the Common Moorhen, except the Moorhen has a red bill and the American Coots are white.
Think they must have had a lover's quarrel.

That was an interesting fact about the beaks being different colors. I'm not good at shore birds - although I do think I remember those giant funny feet they have ;-)
Nice shots and I am sure they'll make up soon - haha!

Oh, and aren't there just some crazeee drivers out there? Glad that person didn't cause an accident, the one that ran the stop sign!!

Excellent shots of the coots. I didn't know how to tell them from moorhens. Thanks for pointing out how one tells the difference.

I saw a male and female mallard ducks yesterday.
