I am going to change gears again. Decided I want to show you this Osprey.
He was at Boca Ciega Park.
Boca Ciega Park is another new one for us. We got lost on one of the trails, we were all turned around and it was beginning to get late in the evening.
As we wandered around trying to find our way back to our vehicle we did get to see this Osprey. Jimmy kept reminding me I wouldn't have seen the Osprey if he had not gotten us lost. At the time that was not making me feel any better, but when we found the car then I was ok about it. It will be one of those times we have a good laugh about, someday.
Boca Ciega Park is very close to Lake Seminole Park that we always visit while in St Pete Beach. I also photographed Osprey there that I will be posting another day.

Thanks Leedra for sharing these pics of the Osprey. You must have really been uneasy as darkness moved in. That happened to us once at Providence Canyon in south Georgia. Scary!
We get lost a lot Leedra. I'm always asking, "Do you know where we are?" and the answer is, "Not really but isn't this great?" My one consolation is that hubby has a natural instinct to always end up in the right direction - eventually - and we do see a lot of interesting stuff on the back roads :) These are wonderful shots of your Osprey. I hope you got back to the car before dark :)
Leedra - I was lost in the woods before so I know the feeling! But the bright side is that you captured this wonderful osprey. He almost looks like he's "one" with the tree - almost like he was carved out of it.
Great shots! I've never seen an osprey.
Denise - What was scary to me was I am the one with the sense of direction and I had let Jimmy tell me which direction to go and I had lost all sense of direction.
Wonderful pictures. I too have never seen an osprey before
Your vacation pictures are awesome!! Three weeks is a long time to be gone, but it looks and sounds like you had a great time!
Great pictures of the Osprey. Was it worth getting lost? What we won't do for a picture!LOL
Blessings,Ruth
I've been lost on trails before..I have a terrible sense of direction sometimes but I always manage to find my way back..and then I laugh!!
Good you were looking up as you explores the paths back to your car..what a neat sight to have seen..he does look like he is part of the tree!! :)
Sometimes the best things come as a result of, or in spite of accidents and mistakes.
Being lost is scary, but I am glad that you got to see the Osprey and found your way back to the car. He sure is gorgeous. Great photos.
Oh Leedra, Being lost in a strange place is SCARY.... I'm sure Jimmy was glad you did see the Osprey.. HA!
We now have a hiking GPS---so that when we are out in the woods hiking OFF-trail, we mark where the car is --so that we can find it. Thank God!
Hugs,
Betsy
Thanks for your message back, found your other blog -- wow, you really know your birds! :) Very interesting reading I will say. I'm sure it was a bit tough leaving the warm weather and coming back home to the snow and cold!
He didn't seem to be bothered by you at all. What a pretty bird!
Thanx for your kind words!
