Red Bellied Woodpecker

The Red Bellied Woodpecker and the Yellow Bellied Sapsucker share the same tree. I cannot seem to get good photos of the Sapsucker.
So I will settle for the Red Bellied Woodpecker.
She took one look at me, and off she went.
But those treats I smeared on the side of the tree were too much to resist.
She was back in a few minutes.
I now have suet, and I placed it on the other side of the tree so I can get her in the morning light next time, instead of in the shade of the tree.
She was on the wrong side of the tree for the time of day I was photographing her. Be sure and enlarge the last photo to see the food in her bill.

The sapsuckers tend to really blend in making it hard to get their photo. These are great of the Red-Bellied!

Hi Leedra! Great shots. I can't remember how to tell the M from the F in the RBWP. I do see you called this one F. Hummm. will have to look that up. I too posted the Red-Bellied WP today! Wonder what He/She is?

Hi Leedra, Great pictures of the Red-bellied.. My Pete and Petunia are still here---and Pete even tried to come to the hanging feeder this week... I had never seen him do that--especially since I had the suet out. Guess he enjoys the sunflower seeds more than the suet!!???

Happy St. Patty's Day!
Hugs,
Betsy
