Deer in the snow at Cades Cove

These deer photographs were taken March 8, 2008 at Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
For the last 2 years we have not had as much rain as we needed. We are trying to make up for it in 2 days. Not good! The rivers are cresting this morning. Centers are opening up for the people that have to leave their homes. Snow days I have heard of, but rain days? The schools are closed all over East Tennessee this morning.

Wow- school closings for rain. We've never had such a thing, but then we don't really have much for flooding around here. Stay dry Leedra!

Leedra: I like that second shot the best, nicely captured with the deer in a neat pose.

Beautiful Leedra. I have never been to Cades Cove when it's snowing. I'd love to have been there then. Maybe in March this year --it 'may'???? snow, and we can go!!!!! (I hope.)

By the way, did you all have any flooding??? There has been quite a bit around. We're fine--but it rained cats and dogs here ALL day yesterday and all night. Now we have flurries.
Hugs,
Betsy

Don't worry about the rain until they start talking about building arks.

I really like your pictures of the deer in the snow -- especially the second picture. Right now I think some of us would be willing to trade some of this rain for a little snow. Stay dry.

Isn't it amazing how they can weather the cold.

Love these pictures...my brother and I both talk about how we would love to be home in Tennessee one more time for a snow. I grew up near Cumberland Gap, TN...

I love to see photographs of deer in the snow. I was in Cades Cove once in November when there were light flurries, but got no good shots of the deer with the snowflakes falling.

Don't the deer look great in the snow? Our deer seem to be hiding right now - I miss them. Nice to see yours!

I love your new header! Gorgeous!

Rain days? Yep, lol, I've heard of them... even had an NHL game canceled because of rain in San Jose. The river that runs by the arena flooded that day.
