Snowy Egret at Lake Seminole Park

These are photos of a Snowy Egret at Lake Seminole Park, taken October 28, 2008.

This is a juvenile Snowy Egret, notice the legs.

I get so confused trying to learn these egrets/herons. Just when I think I am getting close something is different. See my snowy egret post if you have time. I called it a snowy and then Hap set me straight wound up being a great egret, not to be mistaken i learned with the great white heron... lol

anyway, my confusion. this guy has yellow legs, I thought snowy's had black legs and yellow feet?

Leedra said...: These legs are black on the front. That is why I use several reference books instead of one. Helps to see different photos of the same bird. The beak is the real one to look at when checking if a Snowy or a Great.; February 19, 2009 at 10:49 AM
