Crinum Lilies at Lake Seminole Park

These Crinum Lilies were at Lake Seminole Park in October 2008.

Darla had posted some the day before I photographed these, hope I got the name right. I had never seen any with color before these. White ones are all around the resorts at St Pete Beach, but these really caught my eye.

Beautiful! I used to have a white lily that looked like this and the bloom only lasted a day or two.

I read an article about old fashioned flowers long ago and it talked about the wonderful fragrance of these Crinum lilies. The writer grew up where they were planted outside the bedroom window and she said it was thee best smell ever! Did you smell them, Leedra?

Bird Girl - I did not smell them, or don't remember. Next time I see them I will be sure and check.

Shelley - Thanks, I always take that to mean it is a real keeper.
