I have always been attracted to the pelicans. Just learned this year there are White Pelicans too. The White Pelicans are a gorgeous bird, but I still like the brown ones.
I tried in February to capture the pelicans in flight, but was not able to.
That was one of the reasons I got my D-SLR. The point and shoot was not fast enough to catch the birds in flight.

Lovely in flight photos.I've never seen a Brown Pelican, but have photographed several White Pelicans.
Great flight pictures.
my first brown pelcian! They look beautiful in flight!
Excellent in flight photos Leedra! I am attracted to the pelicans too... and from what I see with the white pelicans, I think I prefer the browns too :)
These are fantastic shots!
Leedra: Beautiful flying captures of the pelicans.
Leedra I love your shots and especially the last one of him flying off and saying goodby...very nice work!
Gorgeous photographs of the pelican! I was so fortunate a few years ago to capture one diving for his dinner into the water. The shot isn't as close because I was using a point and shoot, but I will try to find it some time and post it. I love these! You can almost count every feather! They are quite handsome birds!
