Jimmy and I were able to take off Thursday and Friday and we went to the mountains. They are so close to us we came home both nights. We had a great time and I got some fall color photographs. The first 2 shots are on the road to Fontana Village, a sharp turn in the road and this water cove caught my eye. The sign said we were at Tapoco, part of Alcoa Power.
The red trees were in Fontana Village, hopped out at a stop sign and snapped this one.
The view from the top of Fontana Dam.
A shot taken from inside the moving car, through my dirty windshield. (Jimmy was driving.)
My favorite of these is the 2nd photograph. I haven't been through everything I took in those 2 days, but so far I have only seen one I liked better. I will post it in a few days. I have to get to sleep so I can go to knitting class before I go to work Tuesday afternoon.

The second one with the reflection of the trees and the sky is beautiful.
Neat Leedra! It so much fun to see fall, in all its glory, in different parts of the country. Cold and drab our fall this year was a colorless bust.
Beautiful scenes.I can only imagine what the real thing must have looked like.eshow more of this area.Have a fun filled day.
Blessings,Ruth
That is such a beautiful place Leedra. Wish I lived that close where I could visit often.
Wow, really pretty pictures! I love the one with the red tree.
The second photograph, and the last one are my favorites. You've captured fall beautifully.
Beautiful shots, Leedra! The second one is my favorite, too. I'm a sucker for photos with reflections! When we were at Fontana it was covered with clouds/fog and we couldn't see much.
Hi Leedra, I'm so glad that you and Jimmy had a couple of days off to enjoy nature and each other. Did you go over the Tail of the Dragon???? I love that drive through the Fontana area. One of these days, I want George and I to stay in a cabin at Fontana. We've never done that.
Hope you saw all of my pictures (3 blog posts) taken on Sunday, Oct. 25, as we went across the Cherohala Skyway. Check my sidebar for the label, Cherohala Skyway. The pictures are fabulous.
Love yours too--especially that 2nd one.
Hugs,
Betsy
These are breathtaking! I love autumn photos.
Hi Leedra. Beautiful autumnal colours & reflective views. FAB.
It looks as if you found some beautiful fall colors at Fontana. I really like the pictures you've shared with us.
I agree with you pic, the second shot is excellent; good comp, great colors and excellent reflection.
Now that our leaves are nearly all down its nice to follow the colors south, thanks for sharing.
The 2nd photo is gorgeous. I really like the photo of the view of Fontana Dam. The fall colors are so beautiful.
wow...wonderful color! My favorite is that third one with all the red leaves. Beautiful!
Ok, now that I have come back and looked at them again. My fav. is the 2nd one down, with the water. You do sell these, don't you? On another website? I will have to check this out. My mom-in-law is a huge card sender.
PS - cable knitting is not that hard. I love it, it makes knitting fun! Its my favorite thing to knit.
The mountains are so beautiful! Your photos with the water and trees just perfect. Oh how I wished I lived in the mountains. I'd like that even better than living on the ocean.
itsJUSTme-Wendy----I might try cable, I keep looking at it. Got so many different ones going on right now with Christmas around the corner. Probably will be after Christmas before I try it.
I do sell my cards and the 2nd one down I have already placed in 3 different cards. "A picture is worth a thousand words", "For everything there is a season", and "Let us be silent that we may hear the whisper of God". And of course I always have the blank front, with no words. I think the printed photograph looks better than what I see on the blog. The blue in the sky and the water is my vibrant than on the blog.
I sell them through Etsy, and I can put whatever you want me to there. I will make a custom order for you with any photograph on my website or blogs. Or you can order straight from me, without going through Etsy.
Have a cascade shot I am planning on getting on the blog today or tomorrow too.
So pretty. I missed our fall season, seems once the rain comes...forget it. All the leaves go fast!
YOu have some lovely color! I just wish it lasted a little longer. :)
I sure wish I had been there! Gorgeous!
