Silver Spotted Skipper

Well, the White Cabbage Butterflies were first, then the skippers started.
Have seen a few other butterflies, but not many.
There are lots of different skippers in my yard,
but all of these photographs are the Silver Spotted Skipper.
Hope it wasn't too wet for them this spring, we sure had the rain.
I will still be out there trying to capture the butterflies that do come to my yard.
They all seem to like my zinnia patch, and it is larger this year than last year.
Mary at Faith, Fabric and Photos has a post of the Silver Spotted Skipper, she talks about the White Elephant. Can't really see it in my photos here, but you need to check out her post. I will keep a look out for this marking in the future.

Very nice photos of the Siler Spotted Skipper! I can see the "white elephant" marking slightly. I think it depends on how they hold their wings :-) Your zinnias are beautiful! I always love all the different colors they have.

Beautiful photographs. We have seen fewer butterflies this year than usual. Your skipper is lovely.

I'm still not seeing many butterflies yet so I enjoyed seeing yours much.

Nice pictures of the Silver Spotted Skipper on your Zinnias. I've had a lot of those but not many butterflies. I miss them! I had so many last year.

Beautiful butterflies, Leedra. I never knew any of their names---but am learning SLOWLY.

We have butterflies up here--but I have no idea which are which...

Love you,
Bets

I didn't realize how small these skippers are, but you've captured them beautifully. Thanks for sharing.

Nice captures! I used to catch this kind of butterfly all the time when I was a kid...

Leedra, I just love all those colors bouncing off of each other...how wonderful! The hues of that flower really make that skipper pop in your pictures...these photos should be post cards!! Very nicely done!!

The zinnas are beautiful especially with the butterflies. These would be gorgeous in a card..I will have to remind my sister of this.
