Harrisburg Covered Bridge

Saturday Jimmy and I went to the
Great Smoky Mountains National Park to see the wildflowers.
There were lots and I will be posting photos from Saturday soon.We didn't know there were going to be thousands of old cars in Pigeon Forge.
We went so early it didn't really affect us, but when we were ready to return home the traffic from Gatlinburg to Pigeon Forge was sitting at a stand still.

So we decided to take a side road and see where we ended out.
You never know what you might find when you do something like this.
We found a covered bridge. About a month ago Betsy at Joyful Reflections had asked me if I had seen the covered bridge. I never knew we had a covered bridge in east Tennessee until Betsy asked me.
Don't know if the sign would have caught my eye if Betsy had not mentioned to me earlier. Thanks Betsy, it was worth going to see.

I love covered bridges and have driven the route in Indiana that has lots of them. I didn't stop to take pics. So glad you did.

Glad you took these great photos of it! Covered bridges are always neat to see. I think almost everyone I know in Evansville has been to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge....but I haven't. We really need to plan a short trip to the Smokies this year. Maybe in the fall we can make it over to Athens to the Japanese quilt show and travel on from there.

Beautiful photos of the bridge. I know what you mean about the traffic in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.

When I went to Cades Cove, it sometimes took me longer to get from Sevierville to Wear Valley Road and then to Townsend, than what it did to come from Bristol to the interchange at Sevierville. (Or at least it seemed like it did).

I love this!
We're going to the Smokies this summer so I'm putting this on my list to see.
Your dogwoods below are gorgeous.
I have some young trees that just bloomed this week and I took some quick pictures today in between rain showers.
I'm not blogging this week but I saw your comment and wanted to come say congrats on your expected Grandbaby. We'll have to catch up when I get back. I won't have a PC but I'm guessing we'll both be sharing pics for weeks. :)
Catch up with you soon.

It's been beautifully renovated. These covered bridges have such wonderful touches to them. Its like a secret passage to another world.

Leedra, that's a well-preserved covered bridge. I used to enjoy seeing the covered bridges in Pennsylvania when I lived back East. They remind one of days gone by, and it's nice to see a reminder now and then of past history. Nice photos of it.

Beautiful photos! I love the covered bridge. It reminds me of The Bridges of Madison County. Or Beetleguise. LOL
