The stems are 10 to 15 inches.

Leedra: Now that size flower is hard to capture. It is a little beauty.

Betsy - Yes, you can buy in the Sugarlands Visitor Center, in Cades Cove. Or probably Barnes and Noble in Knoxville. It is Great Smoky Mountains Wildflowers, it even tells you when they bloom. They do seem to be a little off this year. I saw some things in bloom that said May and June. This weekend is the end of annual Wildflower Pilgrimage. It is always the last week/weekend of April, because that is the peak of wildflowers. It is well worth going to, seems like it was something like $40 to attend as many as you can fit in. I learned most of what I know there. I also have another book Wildflowers of Tennessee the Ohio Valley and the Southern Appalachians. Not as user friendly but it covers alot more flowers, not just what is in the park.
