Baby Cradle for Wendy and Lukas' baby

As I am preparing this post our new grandson has not arrived. Jimmy works with wood and he made a baby cradle for the new grandson.
Jimmy and I took the baby cradle to Wendy and Lukas' house Sunday afternoon.
We wanted to be sure to get it there before he arrives, and we made it.

This is the 2nd cradle Jimmy has made. The first one was for Mason.
Hopefully soon I will be able to show you photos of our new grandson in his cradle.

What a beautiful handcrafted cradle, Jimmy is quite the craftsman! And such a special gift too... handmade gifts from the heart are always treasured. :-)

I hope the exciting day has arrived by now and all is well!

Beautiful workmanship! As usual I enjoyed catching up on your blog today and really enjoyed it. I liked the flowers and the alligator shots. I need to get out and take some flower photos, instead of just turkey and deer.

Wow Leedra... You are so lucky to have such a talented hubby. That cradle is just gorgeous. I never had one with my babies--but I would have loved having one. I used a basinet with mine until they went into their baby bed.

Keep us posted when the baby comes. I know that you all are TIRED of waiting.

Hugs,
Betsy

Absolutely handsome; this will be a treasured family heirloom in years to come! Did Jimmy write his name and the date on the cradle?

Mrs Salty - Actually I do not think he did this time....I will find out, and have him add it if he did not. He made both our children keepsake boxes when they married and he did put his name and the date on those. I am going to find out about both of the cradles. Glad you reminded me.

Jimmy did a beautiful job making the cradle. It's very special to have one that is handmade.

That is so beautiful! Now you need a handmade quilt for it :-) What a blessed baby this will be to have something that special. Jimmy did a wonderful job.

Mary - I knitted 2 baby blankets and a special bag that matches one of the blankets. I will be posting the story about the bag after the baby is born. My daughter will receive it when she goes in labor. Watch for the story.

I did make a baby quilt when I was pregnant with Wendy. Used in with both children and my first grandchild. This grandchild will also use it. I might show it on my blog sometime soon too.
