Fawn at Rockwood

This is our resident fawn in the backyard at Rockwood. The Mama was hit by a car and died in our backyard,
about 2 weeks ago.

We just hope this little one will remain on our side of the highway so it will not be hit too.
These were all taken one week ago today,
but we have not seen it since then.

UPDATE: Jimmy saw the deer tonight (Monday) when he pulled in the driveway.

If you ever wondered why they are called White Tail Deer
you have never seen one take off in the opposite direction.

I would like to ask for prayer for Larry and Deanna Weaver.
Their 18 year old son unexpectedly died last week
and are very much in need of prayer.

My prayers are going up for Larry and Deanna! I can only imagine how hard that would be to face. We came close, but our son was not so young. That has to be one of the hardest things that parents have to go through.

The Fawn is so innocent looking. I hope it can make it without its momma. Nice shots!!

Hi Leedra, Prayers for the Weavers... How sad--and hard for the parents...He was so young.

I hope the little fawn makes it... That is sad that his Mama was killed... Hope he stays out of the road...Poor thing... They are so beautiful..

We had a wonderful trip---and the weather was mild and perfect... It's hot here though... Bah---I'm ready for Fall....

Hugs,
Betsy

Your little fawn is so precious!

I will keep your friends in prayer. It is a difficult time to live through, I've been there, but thankfully we have a Heavenly Father who holds our hand while we walk through that valley, and I pray He is holding them in his arms right now.

What a sweet little thing, so sad his mama got hit and I'm really hoping he doesn't get hit as well. Beautiful photos.

The Weaver family are in my thoughts.

These are wonderful pictures of the fawn. I'm glad she's still around and hope she stays away from the highway.

Your photos of the fawn are lovely. I especially like the tail-end shot. Those are always the most fun with Whitetails.

My prayers are with the Weavers. Losing a child is so very difficult.

I feel so bad for the fawns. We had a fawn a few blocks from our house a few days ago and I'm pretty sure mama is gone for it too. So many busy roads near and I feared finding the fawn along the road, so far so good.
