Memorial Day Tribute

The reflection caught my eye, but notice the flag in the lower left too (2 for 1). The flag in the reflection was behind me, and is shown below.
Today remember the casualties of war are not always visible. The men and women of war are good at keeping it all in, sometimes until it is too late for them to receive help. My father was one of these casualties of World War II, he took his own life December 1954. I am just asking (and reminding myself) to remember our military past and present and their families in our prayers today.
I will be on the beach today, able to be there today because
our military has kept our country a free country.
Remember our freedom is not free.
Be thankful we do still have the freedom to go where we wish in our beautiful country.

Such a beautiful tribute!

I am so sorry about your Dad. It brought tears to my eyes....I too know what it feels like to loose one you love before their time.

God bless you!

Amen, Leedra... Let's never forget those who gave their lives for our freedom...

I had not heard that about your Dad. I'm so so sorry. That happens so much--and we need to take care of our soldiers once they come home.

Enjoy the beach.
Hugs,
Betsy

I think that every day we should all be aware of all our precious freedoms and why we still have them.

A very meaningful post. I am so thankful for those who gave way too much for us to be free. Love your flags.

We do need to remember all the soldiers who have given their lives for our freedom. All the soldiers who go to war pay a heavy price even if they return home. My sympathies for the sad loss of your father.
