a stroll through my yard this morning

The morning started out a little on the cool side, but it is a gorgeous day in East Tennessee. I got out with my camera and took a stroll, came back with over 100 photos, some of which I am sharing here. More than I usually put in one post. Daffodils
Purple Leaf Sand Cherry Tree
Next came my old fashioned bleeding hearts. It always amazes me that this delicate looking plant comes out before frost is all gone, and does not seem to be affected by the cold. Mid summer everybody thinks it is dying, it just can not take the heat, but it comes back early spring.I promise to share more photos from this little delicate plant.

more Daffodils
Wildflower - Little Brown Jug....looking good
The white dogwoods are just beginning to show a little bit.
Redbud that Jimmy had trimmed way back because it was shading too many of my flowers.
Common Columbine

more Daffodils

Flowering Almond, already fading. I have 4 of these in my yard.
(Acquired from my Mother)

This Wisteria will be blooming all over itself in the next day or two. This Wisteria is about waist high, tiny as far as Wisteria go, but it is going to be covered. I have other Wisteria, including white, but they are not as far along as this one.
And finally to the fruit trees. Hope I get pears off this one this year. Year before last I had pears, but not last year. Time will tell.

hopefully the bee is helping my chances at fruit on my many different fruit trees

I hope everybody is having a wonderful weekend. We are getting together with our children and grandchildren tomorrow afternoon. The grandchildren get to try out the new swings their Papa has hung for them.

Such a beautiful Spring Yard you must have. I wonder if the Flaming Chinese Tree, the Little Brown Jug, and the Pear, would survive in our frigid zone 3??? The Dogwood is still a favorite with all of it's glorious promise. Thanks for the relaxing stroll.

What a beautiful stroll, Leedra!!
I love that Flowering Almond because we had them at home when I was a kid! All of your flowers are gorgeous especially the Bleeding Hearts.

Dar - Well, I wrongly marked the small tree as Flaming Chinese Tree, it is a Purple Leaf Sand Cherry. I have now corrected the post. Thought of that in the middle of the night (how funny is that?) It can be researched on the web. Bought it and the pear at the local Lowe's.

Little Brown Jug, is in the Birthwort Family of plants, its name is Hexastylis arifolia (Asarum arifolium), with that you can probably research it. Not sure where you would get in, I can't even figure out how to separate into 2 plants. I got mine from my mother

Gorgeous yard and pictures, Leedra. You know me---I LOVE the Daffodils. We have a good variety in our yard too this year... They all have 'names' --but I can't remember them... ha

Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your family and the grandchildren.
Hugs,
Betsy

Beautiful selection of blooms Leedra. You must be way ahead of us as our 'Bleeding Hearts' are still only showing leaf but the cherry blossom has nearly all disappeared on the winds. FAB.

Hi Leedra, I know the grandchildren loved the swings that Grandpa built. I spent so many hours swinging high among the pecan trees when I was little. As always, your photos are amazing. I don't know that I have ever seen the little brown jug plant before. You are so blessed to have plants from your Mother and Grandmother. With the beautiful, mild weather it is easy to stroll for hours in the yard! Enjoy your day.

Leedra that little brown jug is the most interesting looking plant. Looks like you have spring for sure at your home.

So many beautiful blooms! I only wish these lovelies all didn't bloom almost at the same time. :)
I especially like the redbud and the columbine shots - beautiful.

These photos are all so nice, you must have such a beautiful yard with all those flowers! This post reminded me of a saying my boyfriend's mom put on her facebook:
If you want to be happy for a short time, get drunk ; happy for a long time , fall in Love; Happy forever, take up gardening.

I thought it was cute, lol :) Have a great week!
