The neighbor's peacock came to visit

The neighbor down the road has Peacocks. When we first bought our property I did not know what that 'thing' was that kept on screaming. About 6 months later (2 years before we built the house) we did finally find out it was a Peacock. Now the sound does not bother me at all. Saturday morning we woke to find one on our deck. Jen, you think songbirds are messing on your deck, you should have one of these there. It looked like they had been out there for a month. Jimmy had to wash the deck.
Later that day while mowing Jimmy stopped and told me to grab the camera.
That is a sure sign of something interesting.
The Peacocks were back....all four of them.
I learned they are real camera shy.
Never did capture all four at one time.
But I did succeed in chasing them back to their own field.
Hopefully for good.
Don't want them on my deck anymore.

They certainly are beautiful (in their own yard). You got some great close-ups Leedra.

They are beautiful to look at but I defnitely wouldn't want to be picking up after them!

I wonder what would scare them away that you could set in your yard. Maybe I could rent my 'Ben' to you. ha!
They look pretty fearless and they must be to come and do-do all over your deck. Your right! I would not like that at all!!!!!

I guess even pretty birds leave a terrible mess.

Wow, what a lucky visit. I think I'll have to talk to my neighbor about getting a peacock!

Even though they are beautiful birds, I do not think I would want them around all the time. Their screeching is awful! And the mess :-) Good shots!

Great photos. I understand that they can become a problem about hanging around!! I don't normally deadhead my daylilies, should I?

Darla - It is very time consuming, but I do. I deadheaded about 150 iris blooms yesterday. Daylilies and Iris are the only flowers I deadhead. As I said too time consuming. I deadhead for photo quality. One time I was having a cookout at my house and I knew I would not have time to deadhead the morning off. About dark the day before I deadheaded all that day's blooms so I had a beautiful garden the next morning. That only works with daylilies though.

Peacocks are very beautiful. Too bad they are so messy and loud!

Its a good thing you got used to their noise--I guess their looks make up for a lot. I got to admit that they are gorgeous.

Great photos, Leedra! For all that they can be annoying, they are beautiful birds.

Some friends of mine lived near someone who had peacocks. It was unnerving to sit out at night on the deck and hear the peacocks screaming all evening long!
