Red Spotted Purple

I don't know why I can't ever photograph the Red Spotted Purple on a flower. They are a gorgeous butterfly.
but they are always on the ugliest backgrounds.

They are pretty and you are right, they land in the strangest places. Usually on our trash can or dirty welcome mat.

These are beautiful pictures of a beautiful butterfly!! I have never seen one of these on a flower! They must not like flowers! I usually see these on the concrete or on the driveway.

These are great pictures, even if the butterflies wouldn't cooperate and pose on a flower.

Well there is nothing ugly about your pictures, that's for sure! Your last one is very very nice, even the background :) It's showing those nice red spots on the butterfly's wings. Such a pretty little creature, I don't think we have those around here.
