The Red Bellied Woodpecker and the Yellow Bellied Sapsucker share the same tree.
I cannot seem to get good photos of the Sapsucker.
So I will settle for the Red Bellied Woodpecker.
She took one look at me, and off she went.
But those treats I smeared on the side of the tree were too much to resist.
She was back in a few minutes.
I now have suet, and I placed it on the other side of the tree so I can get her in the morning light next time, instead of in the shade of the tree.
She was on the wrong side of the tree for the time of day I was photographing her.
Be sure and enlarge the last photo to see the food in her bill.
