Old dinner bell and bucket at Settlers Museum of Southwest Virginia

These old dinner bells in the yard of old farmhouses have such charm. They always attract me to them. I have one, but we have not put it up yet. Last summer we were in such indecision about whether we were going to get to stay where we are. Maybe I will get it put up this summer. Again, I have the original, then sepia and black and white.
This dinner bell is in the front yard, right behind it is the front porch that I took this photograph from. When I posted it I had a little more information about the Settlers Musuem.

I just liked the look of this bucket on the fence.

Not much difference in the color and the black and white, but the sepia looks entirely different.

The first structure is the chicken coop.It is still being used. I posted a photograph of one of the roosters here.

Out Structures at Settler's Museum of Southwest Virginia

More structures at the Settlers Museum of Southwest Virginia. I was there in June 2008. Not sure what this first structure was used for. Probably just some type of storage.
First the orginal photos, then changed to Sepia and then black and white.

And onto one of the outhouses. Notice the birdhouse on the side. Guess you can be inside and enjoy the birds singing.

The Barn at Settlers Museum of Southwest Virginia

I visited the Settlers Museum of Southwest Virginia in June while Jimmy was working in Marion, Virginia. These are 2 different photographs of one of the barns at the museum. I have turned each photograph sepia and then black and white.
The only changes I ever make to any of my photographs are to change them to sepia or black and white. I do not use Photoshop.

As I look through the photos I took in Virginia I keep finding more I like from the Settler's Museum of Southwest Virginia. We really did enjoy the afternoon.

Farmhouse at Settler's Museum of Southwest Virginia

We arrived late in the afternoon at the Settler's Museum of Southwest Virginia. We paid, and went through the museum, but it was close to closing time. All the rest of the property except for the farmhouse you just walk around and visit on your own. Since the farmhouse was locked up we walked around it and peeped in the windows. This view caught my eye so much that I took the chance on taking the photo through that dirty old window, straight down the hall. I was pleasantly surprised when I got this to the computer to see it good.

Rabbit at the Settler's Museum of Southwest Virginia

This rabbit was at the Settler's Museum of Southwest Virginia I visited last week. He looks like somebody's pet, but he was running loose. The rooster I posted several days ago was from the same museum. In the bottom photo, he thought I could not see him. Rabbits are so funny when they get still like this.

This photo of a rooster was taken at the Settler's Museum of Southwest Virginia. He is the ugliest rooster I have ever seen. He is so ugly that he is cute.
