We went to Cades Cove Sunday. It was HOT, so not too many animals out and about. The flowers were pretty. First we saw some gladiolus in the edge of the woods. The trees are growing up so that they don't bloom as well as they would out in the open. This one looks so delicate.
The Rosebay Rhododendron was in full bloom all along the highways especially next to the streams.
And there ARE bears in the cove too.
This is the waterfall when you first leave the Townsend Y, headed toward Cades Cove.
It was nice that Jimmy could take a day off for us to just be together.

Hi Leedra! Love your pictures of Cades Cove! The Glad is lovely! Is it wild or left over from someone's garden? Cades Cove is one of our favorite places!
Beautiful. A day spent with one you love is always a good day.
Hi Leedra, Oh --how we love Cades Cove. BUT--we don't go up there much during the summer (mainly due to the heat and traffic)...
Great set of pictures. We saw those rhody blooms recently when we went to Asheville... Love them!
Hugs,
Betsy
These are wonderful pictures. I'm impressed that you braved the heat to visit Cades Cove. You got a great picture of the bear.
Your pictures are gorgeous. I especially like the glads.
It has been awefully hot here too and very, very dry. Today it is in the 80's and I felt so cold I put on a light jacket. In a couple of days the heat is going to be back. So glad you could get some time away.
Leedra, what a beautiful blog you have! Love your photos; especially the flowers and any part of Cades Cove. Couldn't find a way to follow your blog; I would if I could!
Lovely pictures! I love Cade's Cove.
Lovely photos! Looks like a beautiful place to visit.
Beautiful photos! I think of Cades Cove nearly every day and want to go back, but there is so much else to do closer to home at the time of year I want to be there most. It is brutal hot here too and makes it hard to get motivated to go and photograph sometimes.
Beautiful Pictures.
